The brain benefits of looking up from your phone explained by a psychologist in Navi Mumbai Dr. Vishal Ganar.
What is the first thing you do while you’re in a queue, lined up for your morning coffee fix?
Have a nice talk with those next to you? In the middle distance, gaze off? Or dive into the world of your cell phone?
According to Psychologist Dr. Vishal Ganar of the Bhumika Foundation Institute, What you choose to do has a very different neurophysiological effect on you
“If you talk to someone else in the line … we start this lovely chemical cocktail when we interact,” he said.
We start with different parts of the brain, even if you don’t know them, which are linked to our socio-emotional parts of the areas that begin to release oxytocin, dopamine, vasopressin [feel-good hormones].
Dr. Vishal Ganar psychologist in Navi Mumbai also talks about two kinds of neurons, spindle and mirror neurons, which deal with other people’s in-brain interactions and behavior recognition, and the hormones that make you feel safe and happy.
“If you stay long enough, or if it’s funny, then we can bump up our parasympathetic nervous systems, start our immune system firing.”
You feel like you’re linked with other human beings, really.
But if it is your thing to look off into the middle distance, it also has benefits.
If we don’t hamper our brain by either worrying about a job or distracting it in other ways, so what it does is that it continues to make associations, maybe about an issue you’re thinking about, or something imaginative.
Disappearing into your phone deprives your brain of the benefits of interacting or daydreaming.
Choosing option three, picking up your phone, has fewer advantages, at least in terms of the brain effects it produces.
To begin with, you send a signal that you will not communicate so that you do not have the opportunity to experience the good feelings associated with human interaction.

Your abstract thinking is shut off by the distraction of the phone, where your brain distills ideas in the background.
You may assume that you are doing something useful, such as checking emails or working out a problem, but processing a screen situation may avoid the cross-connecting thought that gives you that “a-ha” moment that sometimes comes with creative thinking.
