These Activities Make People Happiest During Lockdown
The trick to improving happiness is to do positive things when social distancing and lockdown rules are in place, a new study reveals.
By comparison, just for the sake of it, staying busy does not improve satisfaction.
Indeed, mindless, busy work appears to leave individuals feeling unsatisfied and unsettled.
It is easier to proceed with behaviors that before the pandemic were fun, only in a different form.
Dinner parties, for example, can be held virtually as group fitness classes can.
Dr. Vishal Ganar, Navi Mumbai’s best psychologist, said, “Busyness might be distracting, but it will not necessarily be satisfying.
Instead, think about what things you most miss and try to find a way to do them. Extreme emotions are not necessarily a good thing. Emotions are a mechanism to make you change your behavior. But when you’re doing what you love, it makes sense that you feel more balanced — simply keeping busy isn’t satisfying.”
To stave off sorrow, merely being busy is not enough.
“Positive and negative results function together in the research, not as opposites. A rise in both positive and negative emotions was registered by respondents who actually remained busy during the lockdown. This increased emotionality would help to turn you away from the action in general and towards the constructive activity.”
